Crochet hook size 3.75 mm
Any yarn of your choice. (2 colors)
- Color A: White
- Color B: Blue
The snowflake granny square measures approximately 12 by 12 centimeters.

- Sc – single crochet
- SLST – slip stitch
- Dc – double crochet
- Hdc – half double crochet
- Sp – space

White Snowflake (using Yarn A):
Round 1: Make a magic ring. Chain 3, then double crochet 15 times into the magic ring. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the initial chain-3.
Round 2: Chain 5, double crochet into the same stitch. Skip the next stitch, *[double crochet, chain 2, double crochet] in the following stitch, skip the next stitch – repeat from * to the end. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 3: Slip stitch into the chain-2 space. In the same space, work [chain 3, double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet]. Then, in the next chain-2 space, *work [2 double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet] – repeat from * to the end. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 4: Slip stitch, then slip stitch into the chain-2 space. In the same space, work [chain 3, 2 double crochet, chain 3, 3 double crochet]. Then, *in the next chain-2 space, work [3 double crochet, chain 3, 3 double crochet] – repeat from * to the end. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 5: Slip stitch, then slip stitch into the chain-2 space. In the same space, work [chain 3, 3 double crochet, chain 2, 4 double crochet]. Then, *in the next chain-2 space, work [4 double crochet, chain 2, 4 double crochet] – repeat from * to the end. Join with a slip stitch. Cut the yarn.
Blue Border (using Yarn B):
Note: In the next round, work all stitches in between the stitches, not on top of them.
Round 6: Attach the blue yarn into the chain-2 space. [Chain 3, double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet], then 3 double crochet, 1 double crochet in between the shells, 1 double crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 slip stitch, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet in between the shells, 3 double crochet. * In the next chain-2 space, work [2 double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet], then repeat the sequence from * to the end. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 7: Slip stitch, then slip stitch into the chain-2 space. [Chain 3, double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet], then 6 double crochet, 7 single crochet, 6 double crochet. *In the next chain-2 space, work [2 double crochet, chain 3, 2 double crochet], then repeat the sequence from * to the end.
